LTI Mindtree - Software Engineer (Fresher)
Interview Process
Technical Round
August 10, 2025The first round of the LTI Mindtree interview was a Technical Round focused on core computer science fundamentals and project knowledge. After a quick self-introduction, I was asked around five questions related to my projects, covering implementation, challenges, and problem-solving approaches.
The interviewer then moved to OOPs concepts, especially the types of inheritance and whether inheritance can be achieved through public or private access specifiers. I also had to explain Linked Lists, their structure, and real-world applications like efficient insertions and deletions compared to arrays.
Next came SQL questions, where I was asked to explain joins and their types — INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, RIGHT JOIN, and FULL OUTER JOIN — along with practical use cases.
For some candidates, basic coding questions were included, but in my case the round mainly tested theory, project clarity, and core subject knowledge.
👉 Key areas to prepare: OOPs, inheritance, DBMS, SQL joins, data structures (linked lists), and project explanations.
HR Interview
August 15, 2024The second round of the LTI Mindtree interview process was the HR Interview, which focused on personality, communication, and workplace adaptability. It began with a simple self-introduction, followed by a situational question: “Describe a time when you had a difference of opinion with your teammate and how you resolved it.” The interviewer wanted to assess my teamwork, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
I was also asked about my willingness to relocate and whether I am comfortable working in different shifts, which is a common question for service-based IT companies. The round was more about testing attitude, flexibility, and cultural fit rather than technical knowledge.
👉 To prepare for the LTI Mindtree HR Interview, practice common HR questions, highlight teamwork experiences, and be honest about relocation and shift preferences. Confidence and clear communication are key.
Detailed Experience & Tips
The LTI Mindtree recruitment process for freshers consisted of two main rounds: Technical Interview (TR) and HR Interview.
In the Technical Round, the interviewer tested my knowledge of core computer science subjects such as OOPs concepts, types of inheritance, linked lists, and SQL joins. I was also asked about my projects, including implementation details and challenges I faced. Some candidates were given basic coding questions, but in my case the focus was on fundamentals and theory.
The HR Round was more about personality and workplace readiness. I was asked to introduce myself, explain a situation where I had a difference of opinion with a teammate, and how I handled it. Questions on relocation and work shift flexibility were also asked.
Overall, the interview process was straightforward and mainly checked for clarity of concepts, problem-solving approach, teamwork skills, and adaptability. Preparing OOPs, DBMS, data structures, SQL, and project explanations is highly recommended for clearing the LTI Mindtree interview.
